How you can Help

Please give these loving animals a chance at a better life.

FROM OUT OF THE ANIMAL SANCTUARY:

Many animals are waiting for your contribution. If you want to help the animal welfare and disseminate knowledge about the problem of animal overpopulation you can do any or all of the following:

  • PROMOTE ADOPTION: If you know of someone who wants to buy a pet tell them to adopt instead of buying.
  • SPREAD THE WORD: Send an email to your contacts telling them about us.
  • ENCOURAGE STERILIZATION: If you know of someone who wants to breed their pets tell them that thousands of animals are slaughtered because they are abandoned, still race. Tell them not to breed them but better sterilize them.
  • PREVENT ABANDONMENT. If you know of someone who wants to get rid of a pet, help them understand that a pet cannot fend for itself on the streets and that they should never turn an animal out onto the streets.
  • DONATE YOUR ACCESSORIES. If you have pet accessories that you no longer use you can donate them to us, such as plates, houses, leashes, collars, etc.
  • COLLECT FUNDS. Help us to obtain funds. Taking care of so many animals is a very costly job and in the present time we have no sponsors. Expenses resulting from this work are very large and we need the economic aid of others.
  • DONATIONS: If you still want to do more for this noble cause, your financial support is very important. You can donate through:
       - Bank transfer to HSBC Mexico Bank account 021238062431545583
       - Deposit in HSBC Mexico Bank account 6243154558
       - Wire transfer through Western Union, UniTeller or MoneyGram, please
write to us to give you the information.
       - Credit card charge through PayPal (coming soon).
  • SIGN FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS. There is an initiative for the United Nations to recognize animal rights. You can read and sign this initiative on this web page ANIMALS MATTER TO ME www.animalsmatter.org

  • CLIMATE. La Cienega lies 2125 meters above the sea level in a semi-desertic area so it has a range of temperature from 0 to 25 ° C in winter and 15 to 30 ° C in summer, as an average.
  • SERVICES. We have computer with Internet, wireless Internet, bathroom including hot water, telephone and cell phone coverage restricted only for some companies.
  • WHAT TO BRING. Depending on the time of the year, bring light clothes in the summer such as shorts and T shirts, in winter bring long clothes. If you get to sleep in our house we provide linen and towels, soap and shampoo, as well as food and cooking utensils. Any contribution in medicines, surgical materials or money is more than welcome.
  • LOCATION. From Mexico City Airport take a bus to the city of Querétaro with a 3-hour tour. These buses depart continuously during the day. Then we can pick you up at the Querétaro bus station and it takes about an hour by car to reach La Cienega.
  • SURROUNDINGS. Nearby are several cities of interest for foreign visitors such as Querétaro, San Miguel Allende and Guanajuato. There are also some close attractions such as an abandoned mining town, cacti 2 meters tall, and semiarid rocky landscape.
